Currently Commissioner of Income Tax Delhi, A Public Policy professional and a former Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Dr. Shravan Kumar has profoundly  impacted the working environment and utility of  institutions while leading from the front by infusing creativity and compassion in the discharge of duties in all his works. Acknowledged as a vanguard in the field of arts, culture and film media he embarked on a successful journey as the CEO of CFSI, Children’s Film Society of India. His contributions and innovations have enriched CFSI towards emerging as a leading organisation engaged in production and dissemination of filmic content for   children , leading to its meteoric rise in stature internationnally during  his five and half year tenure.

Consitent endeavours and resultant breakthroughs in production and marketing efforts in CFSI led him to  International Film Festivas like Cannes, Berlin, Toronto and the same were acknowledged by premiere institutions including IITs,IIMs, Cambridge University, World Bank, Xavier’s College . Besides getting 4 Naional Awards , the films got accolades at several international film festivals culminating in the Lifetime acievement award by the UNESCO mandeted international centre of films for children and youth(CIFEJ) .

During his tenure  in Ministry of Information & Broadcasting,  reforms at streamlining  the process of film certification as CEO CBFC won appreciation of the peers and industry alike. As Joint Secretary , Ministry of Culture, Govt of India he was instrumental in effective policy planning and implementation of schemes for knowledge heritage institutions such as Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, Gandhi Heritage Sites Mission, National Mission on Libraries, Asiatic Society of Kolkata & Mumbai, Anthropological Survey of India, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, National Archives of India, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, National Library, Kolkata, and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies.

His efforts to make records available online through ‘Digital on demand’ , endeavours in augmenting conservation , preservation of records as Director General, National  Archives of India  was well received by researchers across the globe  and highly appreciated in the ministry of  India.

Dr.Shravan Kumar has endeared himself to one and all by his commitment to the cause that he espouses and sincerity of purpose .“Little Directors”  ,children directing films, becoming one of the most famous programs of CFSI is a proof of his  penchant for excellence and emphasis on inclusiveness.
